# Find cards at a show with Treasure Hunt

> Browse what vendors are selling at a show, build a wishlist, request the cards you're hunting for, and record what you buy with Treasure Hunt.

Treasure Hunt connects you with the vendors at a show. Browse the cards vendors have listed, see which of your wishlist cards are in the room, and send a request to every vendor at once for a card you can't find. Vendors reply with their table number, so you know exactly where to go.

Treasure Hunt works on the event page at [ontreasure.com](https://ontreasure.com) and in the [Treasure Events mobile app](https://docs.ontreasure.com/features/mobile-app.md). Look for the **Treasure Hunt** section on the event page. For how hosts set it up, see [Treasure Hunt](https://docs.ontreasure.com/features/treasure-hunt.md).

> [!NOTE]
>
> Not every event uses Treasure Hunt. The host decides whether card listings and attendee requests are shown. If requests are turned off, the section is titled **Cards** and you can only browse.

## Who can hunt

You can request cards at an event when you're signed in and you have either:

* **A ticket** to the event, bought through Treasure, or
* **A Treasure Hunt check-in**, from scanning the event's Treasure Hunt QR code at the show

Standing at one event doesn't carry over to another. If you were let in at the door without a Treasure ticket, ask staff for the Treasure Hunt QR code.

### Check in with the Treasure Hunt QR code

**1. Scan the code**

Scan the Treasure Hunt QR code the host shows, for example on a poster or a staff member's phone. It opens the **Treasure Hunt Check-in** page.

**2. Sign in**

Sign in or create an account with your phone number or email. If you're signed in to the wrong account, choose **Sign in or sign up with a different account**.

**3. Check in**

Select **Check in & request cards**. You can now request cards at this event.

Check-in follows the same window as card requests, below. If the code doesn't work, staff may have put up a new one, so ask for the current code.

## When requests are open

Card requests open 10 days before the event starts and close when the event ends. Until then, you'll see "Requests open 10 days before this event starts. Check back closer to the show." Any request that's still open when the event ends is closed.

## Browse vendor cards

The **Treasure Hunt** section lists the cards vendors at the event have listed for sale. Search for a card, or use **Filters** to narrow by vendor, set, grader, and more, or to show only cards on your wishlist.

Select a card to see which vendors have it, and at which table. From a card you can:

* **Add to Wishlist** to save it. Cards already saved show **In Wishlist**.
* **Message** a vendor about it.
* **Record transaction** after you buy it.

### Your wishlist

Your wishlist is saved to your account, under **My inventory → Wishlist** on your profile. When a vendor at an event you're attending lists a card on your wishlist, the event shows "A wishlist card is here. A vendor has it. Message them to grab it." Open it to see **Your Hunt** at that event: each wishlist card that's in the room and who to talk to about it.

## Request a card

If you can't find a card, request it. Every vendor at the event gets an alert, whether or not they've listed it.

**1. Start a request**

Select **Request Card** in the Treasure Hunt section, then search for any card.

**2. Add a note**

Optionally, add a **Note for vendors**, such as the language, condition, or grade you want.

**3. Send it**

Select **Request card**. Treasure confirms that vendors have been notified.

Each request is for one copy. You can have up to 10 open requests per event. To request another, close one of your open requests first. If you want a second copy of the same card, request it again after the first request is done.

### Track your requests

Your open requests appear under **Your requests** on the event. When a vendor says they have your card, Treasure notifies you (for example, "Found: Charizard"), and the request shows the vendor and their table number. Go to the table, or **Message** the vendor first.

To stop looking for a card, open the request and choose **Cancel request**. If you talked to a vendor but didn't buy, you can close it without a transaction.

### Request a vendor's custom item

Vendors can also list their own items, such as mystery packs or made-to-order pieces. When you ask for one, your request goes only to that vendor. If they can't fill it, they release it and you're notified. You can then ask again for the same item or a different one.

## Record what you buy

Treasure Hunt keeps a record of the deals you make at a show. Recording is how you mark a request as found and keep track of what you bought.

* After you buy a card, select **Record transaction** on the card or request, enter what you bought and the **Deal total**, and save. Treasure confirms with **Purchase recorded**.
* If the vendor records the sale first, it appears as a suggested transaction for you to review. Choose **Confirm** if it's right, **Edit** to fix the details, or **Didn't happen** to dismiss it.

You'll find every deal under **My inventory → Transactions** on your profile, and anything waiting on you under **Action needed**.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Treasure doesn't process payment for these deals. You pay the vendor directly, for example with cash, Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle, and the transaction is a record of what changed hands.

## Notifications

Treasure Hunt sends you:

* A reminder the day before a show you have a ticket to
* An alert when a vendor has a card you requested, or when it's no longer available
* An update when a vendor records or confirms a transaction with you
* Reminders to record your transactions during and right after the show

Choose how you get these under **Treasure Hunt** in your [notification settings](https://docs.ontreasure.com/features/notifications.md). Card request alerts and event reminders are sent as push notifications in the mobile app only.
